– Compositions.
It is said that to
effect a successful abstract, an artist should ideally have an excellent
command on realistic work. ‘Compositions’ are the base of this thought process,
which is cultivated early on as an exercise that hones the young artist in
selection and combination of colours, his tryst with form, transparency and
opaque visual effects and the like.

Of course, there are
techniques and there are techniques and the student learns to unleash his
creativity and bare his soul, playing with form, space and colour in an
unending journey of finding himself.

What results is more
often than not, not explainable; it is to be revelled in for its visual appeal
and the artist’s acumen in handling his tools – medium, subject and space.
