'Thinking Buddha' _Acrylic on Canvas_ 10" x 10" |
3rd - 14th Mar.’14: Pradarshak presents “Mood” Solo Exhibition by Ribaka Nikam
Ribaka Nikam is a young achiever; a young painter, sculptor and
ceramist, who uses every form that best suits her creations, that when
finished, have a life and story of their own. Bright hues and open emotions in
her paintings herald positivity and the layers aver to deeper thoughts and
nuances of the artist’s mindscape.

'Child Buddha' _Acrylic on Canvas _10" x 10" |
Her muse is an in depth study of the Child Buddha, whose visage she uses
as a representation of physical form. At places, the visage becomes a metaphor
for life’s processes. In any case, it depicts various ‘moods’ that influence
and abide by everyday routines, pleasure and pain alike.

'Shiva' _Acrylic on Canvas _42" x 42" |
Ribaka introduces a decorative element in her paintings, where she
layers the visage with intricate storytelling, in miniature format; with calligraphy at places; while at others, with random patterns that bring the painting alive, uplifting
it and the spirits of the viewer.

'Buddha & Friends' _Acrylic on Canvas _42" x 48" |
Ribaka’s paintings are full of intrigue, as each work of art unfolds
with a distinctive tale, engaging the viewer and keeping him occupied with the
form, colour and rendition, long after he has moved away from it physically.
A thoroughly enjoyable, must-see exhibition.
