17th - 29th Nov.’14: Pradarshak presents Solo Exhibition of Landscapes by Satish Mane.
Satish Mane is a
young artist, who revels in the beauty around him. Born and brought up in the
scenic surrounds of Sangli, nature has been a great influencer on his artistic
mindset; and especially, the profusion of colours that nature offers in the
form of flowers, fruits, leaves and the changing seasons.
“Greeshma or spring,”
says the artist, “Is one of the most beautiful seasons. It strikes a chord directly
at the bottom of my heart; inspiring me, urging me to try and capture its
beauty on canvas for posterity.” The
colours of spring are deep, clear and beckon Satish and he paints vividly in
both, acrylics and oils on canvas and paper.
Satish has been
exploring various techniques to present nature on canvas and the most recent
one, used in this exhibition too, is the dotted application of colour. Not only does this technique
augur well for his colour schemes and application, it also gives him more time
to dwell on his canvases and foster his musings. Moreover, this prolonged
dialogue with his work of art felicitates a bonding between the artist and his
muse; the work of art and the ultimate viewer, carrying the private dialogue
forward as an insight for the viewer; giving him a better understanding of the
attachment and relationship of an artist with his works of art.
