18th – 29th Sept.2017: Pradarshak presents “Sixth Sense” Debut Solo Exhibition by Dr. Romika Bhasin
Dr. Romika Bhasin is a
young doctorate holder in drawing and painting from the Bhopal university.
Having done her thesis on the Bharat Bhavan, the unusual and out-of-box
thinking that is generally associated with Bharat Bhavan is also evident in her
artistic expression.
Playing with paper pulp
and being inspired by nature, the artist finds her muse in the resulting
natural ridges and texture of the flattened pulp. Taking her muse further,
colour gives the medium an all-new life as the artist plays with her expression
– predominantly using yellow, black and red to give vent to her impressionist
musings.
Her paintings are devoid
of any human figure as she conjures nature as an amalgamation of diverse
abstract forms, each manifesting the artist’s penchant for exploration.
As a debutante, Romika
holds the promise of deeper introspection, where her expression can make
tangible associations related to man and nature.
