15th - 25th Jan. 2018: Pradarshak presents ‘Made for each other’ Semi-abstract Paintings by Rajesh Shah
A decade of happy colours is the first thought that crosses one’s mind, when one views the eternally vibrant palette of Rajesh Shah’s paintings. An upcoming artist, Rajesh Shah hails from Pune and is as prolific in his choice of subjects as he takes pride in his artistic oeuvre.

In this, his seventh solo exhibition, he revisits an old subject ‘lovers’ with a new zest and a shift in technique. In “Made for each other”, his normally well-articulated forms are replaced by well-defined silhouettes. An emphasis on the lips seems to become the moniker of the canvas, taking the direction that the artist wishes; conjuring up different moods in the viewer’s eye.
His normally excessively-vibrant palette is also subdued as Rajesh introduces the colour ‘violet’ softening the palette and adding to the romantic mood board of his impressionist art. His once stark backdrops are now a spattering of hues, almost merging into the mood of the painting; yet contributive. Rajesh’s use of bold colour and his distinctive style of capturing the mood are indeed commendable.

Rajesh debuted into the professional art scenario with his first solo exhibition at Pradarshak, Mumbai during early 2007.
