7th - 18th May 2018: Pradarshak presents ‘Yūgen’ Expressionist abstracts by Rashmie Tyagi
Yūgen is a Japanese word that loosely translates to “An awareness of the universe that triggers feelings too deep and mysterious for words.” In this solo by Rashmie Tyagi, the artist, who is in a constant state of flux, visits the inner recesses of her mind yet again, where she taps into her innate sense of power to convey through art, her interpretation of the sublime in this journey called life.
Always drawn to the expressionist abstract mode of expression, the artist, who lives by the sea and is almost constantly drawn by the infinite horizon, paints using lines, colours, textures and layers, aspiring to a simplicity that resonates instantly with the mind even while one is still visually perceiving the composition of the piece.

As an abstract expressionist, she captures the momentary, sensory effect, communicating what we do not see but feel all around us. As you go deeper you start on a quest of self-discovery leading you to the unknown within yourself. And as with anything momentous, one is immediately affected by her abstract, thought-provoking representation of a searching journey of the Soul and the Universe.
