2nd – 13th March’20: Pradarshak presents Solo Exhibition of Realistic Figurative Paintings by Rahul Mhetre
Recent work of contemporary artist, Rahul Mhetre exemplifies subtle nuances of what the artist calls “the aroma of emotions” and sentimental affinity. His deep attachment with nature and keen observation of numerous human characters and their emotional mindscapes constitutes the subject matter of his paintings that explore couple goals, friendship and camaraderie in acrylic colours on canvas.
Rendered in typical Indian realistic style with a touch of modernism in them, the palette brings alive reds, oranges, yellow ochres, pinks, blues, browns and other colours and patterns through their tonal harmony and rhythm.
His narration of the feelings of love, affinity, togetherness, attachment, innocence and above all, simplicity is amazingly lucid and childlike. Combined with his simple pragmatic nature, the canvases bring to life his adept command over the medium resulting in a visual aesthetic that juxtaposes transparency with picturesqueness.
The relevance of aromatic flowers and the sanctity of their fragrance in enhancing sensitivity in the human mind make this thematic endeavour seem like a breath of fresh air in the over-wrought world of emotions in present times.
